New Plans

After a long Christmas and Easter break, it seems to be ASDA season again. Yesterday, I saw a copy of the revised layout for the proposed development. The store is now nearer the road - towards the corner with Sedlescombe Road South and the car park behind, with access and egress still via Battle Road. The road layout does not seem to have changed, they are still proposing 5 lanes at the top of Battle Road. I couldn't see a medical centre, though. I have written to ASDA's Property Communications Manager and asked for a new copy of the plans by post and email. They have always obliged so far, so fingers crossed they will send it again. As soon as I have anything, I will post on here.

Our ward Councillor, Matthew J Lock, is finding out whether there will be a new public consultation period. Again, I'll let you know as soon as I hear anything.

I believe that concerns expressed by East Sussex County Councillors regarding traffic have not been addressed in the new proposals.

I have spoken to the HBC Planning Department and they have confirmed to me that this latest application by ASDA is completely new and separate and that therefore none of the petitions, letters, etc regarding the previous application will be considered. Please write to Mr. Chris Sampson, the Planning Officer in charge of this application, and ask him to consider writing to all those who commented on the previous application to let them know that their comments will not be taken into account, unless they write again ref the new application. The new reference number is: HS/FA/09/00284Chris Sampson's email is: csampson@hastings.gov.ukNot everyone reads the Observer and not everyone will realise that their comments so far will now be filed away and forgotten. Please pass this information on to friends and family.

We CAN stop this happening if we keep up the pressure.

To object to the Planning Application, write to:
