Thanks Gaby for leading the opposition to this proposal. I know quite a few people who will sign petition and would be willing to go door knocking to get more if this is allowed.

I'm sure it's allowed. Politicians do it, Jehova's Witnesses do it, why shouldn't we? I think we need to make people aware, and we need to be positive that together we can make a difference. People are always saying to me that ASDA is going ahead whatever we do because our councillors have already made up their minds. I don't think that's the case. I think we need to say how we feel loud and clear. Send me a private message (link at the top) with your name and phone number and we can organise. Petitions are a good idea. The more the better - any letter with 10 or more signatures is classed as a petition. So we can get several petitions going, all with different reasons of why we are opposed, so long as at least 10 people sign each one, they all have to be considered at the Planning Meeting.

Is this forum for ALL matters that are in and around Silverhill or is it just a campaign to try to stop ASDA opening at pondswood.
I am rather split regarding ASDA and if pushed now would vote to accept them opening up but i am openminded and would love to hear the arguments regarding why people are against it, i do hope to come along to the meeting on the 9th of June (monday) and will listen with an open mind.
The forum is a good idea though if it is regarding ALL matters in Silverhill and i look forward to be a contributor to the forum.

Welcome to the Silverhill Forum. It was originally created to help people communicate about the ASDA issue. But now I do think it would be good to keep it going because there obviously are other issues affecting the residents of Silverhill and it can only be a good thing to be able to communicate any concerns we may have and get discussions going. Together, after all, we will be able to achieve far more than we would on our own. And sometimes it's just good to know that you're not alone.
So yes, if you have any suggestions for other headings on this forum let me know and I will add them.
